1.
On my water and sewer bill I have the usage as 2700. Is that gallons or some other measurement? Also, what is the average water usage per household in Lebanon?
The reading is in cubic feet. There are 7.48 gallons per cubic feet. The average per household can vary a lot depending on the number of people living there, how many showers per day are taken and other factors. But what we typically see are low numbers of 400 cubic feet per quarter and highs of 4000 cubic feet or more. In looking at the average I have typically used 150 gallons per day per household which would relate to about 1800 cubic feet per quarter.

4.
Can I check to see if my meter is working properly?
Yes, all water meters have a red triangle shaped indicator on them that moves when water is flowing thru the meter. If this indicator is moving and you are not using any water then you may have something leaking in your house. The most common locations for leaks that people don't notice are from toilets. Shut the valve below the toilet and look at the meter again to see if it stopped. If not try another location. If you can't find anything call the office for assistance.
