Christmas Holiday Hours

Please be aware that all City administrative offices, Lebanon Libraries, and the Lebanon Solid Waste Facility will be closed on Tuesday, December 25, 2018.

Please also be aware that Lebanon Libraries will close early at 2:00PM on Monday, December 24th. Regular hours will resume citywide on Tuesday, December 26th.

Council Approves 2019 City Budget

At the close of the December 19, 2018 public hearing on the proposed 2019 Municipal Budget, the City Council took action to adopt the budget with numerous amendments culminating in:

  • a $30,840 reduction to the proposed General Fund budget; 
  • a $7,030 reduction to the proposed Solid Waste Disposal Fund budget; 
  • a $1,600 reduction to the proposed Water Treatment and Distribution Fund budget ; 
  • an $11,890 reduction to the proposed Sewer Collection and Disposal Fund budget; 
  • a $5,450 reduction to the proposed Municipal Airport Fund budget; 
  • and a $6,251,850 reduction to the proposed Capital Improvements Fund budget. 

The total Municipal Budget for 2019 is $71,107,374 which represents a 2.3% increase in the Municipal Tax Rate. For more information, please visit our Budget Information page or contact the City Manager’s Office. 

Upper Valley Homeless Vigil

Please join Upper Valley service providers on Friday, December 21st - the longest night of the year - for a candlelight vigil to honor the homeless who have passed away in 2018 in both New Hampshire and Vermont. Meet at 4:30 pm at LISTEN in White River Jct. Participants are invited to have hot cocoa and cookies at LISTEN after the vigil. Candles will be provided.

Lebanon Energy in the News

Lebanon was recently in the news with a short NHPR piece featuring the City’s various energy projects. Sustainable Lebanon member Devin Wilke is featured with work he is doing to insulate and weatherize his home; Lebanon Energy Advisory Committee member Greg Ames talks about his solar power and electric car; and Lebanon Energy & Facilities Manager Tad Montgomery describes various citywide energy projects that are underway.

Arts & Culture, Zoning, and TIF Volunteer Members Needed!

The City of Lebanon is currently seeking volunteer board members to serve on the newly establish Arts & Culture Commission. Citizen representatives and arts organization representatives are needed to help complete the purposes of the commission.

Adult Open Gym Basketball and Power Volleyball will return in 2019!

NH Fly Tying Class – Saturday, January 12th 9 am to 3 pm, Lebanon City Hall; Learn to tie several fly patterns, participants will be taught about the basic equipment and materials necessary to tie flies. Register online at LebanonNH.gov/Register.

Free Intro to Belly Dancing Class – Saturday, January 12th 11 am to 12 pm, CCBA Studio; Come sway, shimmy and jingle with Gina Capossela as she teaches you basic beginner belly dance moves and creates an entire dance just for you. Register online at LebanonNH.gov/Register.
