April 14-20, 2019 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. Sponsored by the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO International), this week is an annual celebration and recognition for the thousands of dedicated men and women who are the immediate first responders to emergency calls.
The Lebanon Police Department has 8 full-time and 2 part-time Communications Specialists who tirelessly dispatch Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services to the City of Lebanon, as well as mutual aid to surrounding towns, 24/7, 365 days a year. Dispatchers are the vital first link between citizens and resources and are always there whenever they are needed. They are the lifeline to the City's Police Officers, Firefighters, Emergency Medical Personnel, residents, and visitors.
This week is to celebrate and thank those who are rarely seen but are an indispensable part of the Department. Thank you for all that you do.
