Liberty Utilities has partnered with the Resilient Buildings Group to create a new position to help businesses, non-profits, and municipalities to access energy efficiency incentives and make energy improvements.
Andrew Hatch, a member of the energy committee in Washington, NH who has a lot of experience in the business realm and has worked on a biofuel venture, has been hired to fill this position. He will be reaching out to businesses, energy contractors, and local supply houses to find businesses that are interested in making energy improvements and could use Liberty Utilities’ incentives to upgrade to high-performance systems. His specific role will be to help people complete the application process with Liberty Utilities.
An added feature of this program that will hopefully entice businesses to take advantage, is that rebates are automatic and pre-approved for some measures, especially lighting upgrades. Rebates can be as much as 35% of total project cost!
In addition, Liberty Utilities has a pool of funds that will enable some participants to finance upgrades at 0% interest with on-bill payments. This has the distinct advantage of allowing energy efficiency upgrades to be accounted for as operational expenses rather than capital expenses.
